Cheek Lift and Thread Lift in Staten Island

As we age and gravity takes its toll, the tissue in the cheek areas begins to descend. The heaviness produced from this descent can be in two main places. First, excess tissue builds and forms a line between the nose and lips known as the nasolabial crease. Second, bags begin to form near where the cheekbone resides, close to the eye.

Also, as the tissues of the face descend, the orbital bone (around the eyes) becomes more prominent. This combination of changes all contribute to a less youthful appearance.

What Can a Cheek Lift Do for Me?

A regular facelift will not address these issues properly. Although the cheeks may appear to look better immediately following a facelift, within a few months, they will have returned to their pre-procedure position. A facelift is primarily performed to improve the lower cheek, jawline and neck.

Non Surgical Thread Lift in NYC

Subcutaneous sutures are used under the skin of the face, neck and eyebrow to raise heavy tissues and recreate a fresh appearance without invasive surgery or anesthesia. Subperiosteal Cheek Lift

A conservative incision is placed just inside the temporal hairline to prevent visible scarring on the face. Using endoscopic cameras and tools, we are able to elevate the facial tissues and lift the cheeks to a more youthful position. This procedure is ideal for lightening the bags that form above the cheek bones and below the eyes.The surgery usually takes about 2 hours to complete and can be performed as either an inpatient or outpatient surgery.

Risk factors that are present in most cosmetic surgeries are also present here such as: blood clots, hematoma or seroma that can result in scarring, skin surface issues like hair loss at incision sites, facial numbness, and skin discolorations are the rare complications associated with the cheek lift.

There are some side effects, such as feeling a numb like sensation in the upper lip, which can make it difficult at times to drink something from a glass (also temporary and the sensation will go away with time). There might appear to be slight bruising or swelling around the eyes, but this can be combated like any sprain or swelling, by raising the head above the heart while lying down and also by using a cold compress over the areas.

One of the most commonly reported after-effects is slight pain in the cheekbone area, but like the other side effects it also will subside in time.

Thread Lift/Percutaneous Cheek Lift

A tiny incision is created inside the hairline, and two small incisions are created in the nasolabial fold. By passing stitches through the incisions, the surgeon is able to grip the excess cheek tissue and raise it to a more youthful position. This procedure is ideal for addressing heavy cheeks that negatively affect the appearance of the nasolabial folds.

Swelling that results from a thread lift or percutaneous cheek lift typically lasts for one week. The swelling that results from the subperiosteal cheek lift can last up to two weeks. Normal activity can resume after one to two weeks. The strategically placed incisions hide any scarring that may have resulted from your procedure. No one will know that you had “work done”. You should simply appear refreshed.

Fat injection is excellent for hollowing around the eyes. It is very simple to go through under local anesthesia and can be very long lasting. Surgery is often performed in combination with fat injection. A cheek lift can lift the cheek tissues which can also improve the appearance of hollowing and usually works great in combination with fat injection.
