Hair Transplant Techniques
While there are many different ways to transplant hair as part of a hair transplant procedure, they all share the same core principles in common - relocating healthy hair follicles from areas of full, lashish hair to bald or balding areas.
As soon as the transferred hair follicles begin to recover, they will start growing like other normal hair to correct the hair loss you've experienced. Typically, the hair transplant surgeon will remove donor hair from the back of your head under local anesthesia or mild sedation and the method of hair removal will vary depending on the technician performing your surgery.
Most surgeons will either use a strip removal or Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE) process for getting donor's hair. We typically use the more popular FUE technique, which acquires the natural grouping of hair as individual strokes, eliminating the possibility of a linear scar.
When the graft is finally prepared, the surgeon cleans and numbs the area on your scalp where the hair follicles are supposed to be inserted and then uses a scalpel or needle to create slits on the scalp and delicately place each graft in those slits.
The time taken for the entire process to complete depends entirely on the size of the transplant. It's a completely safe and natural process, especially when compared to the many other options available.
